Markus Verwimp

Based at the Lower Rhine, right on the Dutch border and of Flemish heritage, Markus Verwimp discovered his passion for photography during the Covid-19 pandemic. After more than 20 years as a handball coach, a camera that happened to stay in his hands opened up an entirely new creative path.

Today, as part of STEINSIEK MEDIA PRESS, he is a regular presence on the sidelines, focusing on football and handball. Inspired by Dutch and Belgian sports culture and with a strong connection to Italian football through his language studies, he brings both international perspective and passion to his work. A devoted AC Milan supporter, he captures not only the action but also the emotions behind the game.

His photography is defined by clarity, closeness to the action, and a distinct ability to convey the intensity of sport through powerful imagery.
